Here’s the short version: kanna is the common name for Sceletium tortuosum, a succulent that people in southern Africa have chewed, brewed, and shared for a very long time. Kanna Extract Co. sources theirs from ethically cultivated South African crops, then concentrates it into a glycerine-based liquid you drop under your tongue or stir into a drink. What is kanna?
Kanna is the everyday name for Sceletium tortuosum, a small succulent native to South Africa. Indigenous communities there have used it for centuries, traditionally by chewing or fermenting the plant. Modern kanna products like these drops take a concentrated extract of the plant and standardize it to a specific alkaloid content, so you know exactly how much is in each serving. The alkaloids people talk about most are mesembrine and mesembrenone, and both are listed by weight on this product’s label.
Does kanna contain THC or any cannabinoids?
No. Kanna isn’t related to cannabis or hemp, and Kanna Extract Co. Kanna Drops contain no THC, CBD, or any other cannabinoid. The active compounds are the plant’s own alkaloids, not anything from the hemp plant. Suggested Use:

Start with 2 drops, either directly under your tongue or stirred into a glass of water, juice, or tea.
Hold sublingual drops for about 30 seconds before swallowing to get the most out of them.
Give it time, then step up to 4 drops (one full 160mg serving) if you’d like a fuller experience. Start low, go slow. There’s no prize for rushing.
One serving is a sensible daily ceiling; the bottle is built for 30 of them.
