Description:
Root of Happiness Premium Kava Root Extract Capsules – Liposomal Vanuatu is kava for people who want the calm without the ceremony. Each capsule carries 250mg of kavalactones from a Vanuatu-grown Polynesian Gold® CO2 concentrate in a liposomal base, so there’s nothing to strain, nothing to mix, and no bitter sip to get through.
If you’ve only ever met kava in a traditional bowl, here’s the short version. Kava (Piper methysticum) is a root that Pacific Island communities have shared for generations as a social, winding-down drink. It’s not cannabis. There are no cannabinoids here at all. What you get instead is a relaxed, settled feeling that a lot of people reach for at the end of the day or before a mellow night with friends.
Root of Happiness built this one around a 70% kavalactone concentrate: 357mg of extract per capsule, standardized to that 250mg kavalactone figure. The liposomal base (phosphatidylcholine, coconut-derived MCTs, vegetable glycerin) is a fat-based delivery format meant to carry the extract into the body. You’ll see that same formulation choice in higher-end botanical supplements, and it’s a big part of why this isn’t your average kava capsule.
One a day is the whole routine. Thirty capsules, thirty days.
We stock it in our kava and botanical capsule collection for folks who want a plant-based option that sits outside the cannabis aisle, and who’d rather not taste the root to enjoy it.
Benefits:
Kava has a reputation for being a bit of a project: sourcing a good root, straining it, getting past the flavor. This capsule skips all of that. The dosing is fixed, the extract is standardized, and the whole thing fits in a travel bag.

What is kava?
Kava is a root from the Piper methysticum plant, grown across the South Pacific. Vanuatu in particular is known for it. Islanders have prepared it as a drink for social gatherings and evening wind-downs for a very long time. The compounds people are after are called kavalactones, and that’s what this extract is standardized around. Think of it as a botanical with a calm, sociable vibe rather than anything energizing.
Is kava the same as cannabis?
Nope. Different plant, different compounds, different experience. Kava contains no THC, CBD, or any other cannabinoid. We carry it because plenty of our customers like having a non-cannabis option for a relaxed evening, and kava fills that spot nicely. If you’re brand-new to it, one capsule and a quiet night is the right way to say hello.
What does “liposomal” mean?
A liposomal base is a fat-based carrier. Here it’s made from phosphatidylcholine, medium-chain triglycerides from coconut, vegetable glycerin, and a little organic cane alcohol and candelilla wax. The idea is to package the kava extract in a form the body can take in more readily than a plain dry powder. You’ll see the same approach in a lot of higher-quality supplements. It’s a delivery detail, not a strength claim; the kavalactone content stays at 250mg per capsule either way.
What are kavalactones?
Kavalactones are the naturally occurring compounds in kava root that give it its character. Different kava products list different amounts, which is why a standardized number matters. This capsule uses a 70% kavalactone concentrate (357mg of extract delivering 250mg of kavalactones), so every serving is the same as the last.
